What is a Stiffel Lamp?

A Stiffel lamp is a well-known brand of lamp.

Stiffel represents quality and excellence in designs. The high quality of these lamps means that they are family heirlooms. The lamps have been made for over 75 years now, with the first Stiffel lamp having been made by Ted Stiffel of the Stiffel Company in 1932. Today, the company is owned by Salton Incorporated, and Stiffel lamps are still being manufactured. The lamps are known for their fine details, high quality and sophisticated designs.

Stiffel Lamp Types

There are a number of different Stiffel lamps available today. They range from traditional, to modern to contemporary. You can find a design to suit your tastes, and you can be sure that whichever Stiffel lamp you decide to purchase, it will become a family heirloom in a few years time.

Stiffel lamps are available as: Stiffel table lamps, Stiffel ceiling lamps, Stiffel bathroom fixtures and Stiffel floor lamps.

Generally, Stiffel lamps have a solid metal base and a fabric shade. The shades come in a range of different designs, so you can pick one that will suit your décor. The metal bases are also available in a number of different shades and finishes.

The different finishes which are available include satin brass, pewter, walnut wood, antique word, bronze, antique brass, solid brass, etc.

Stiffel Bi-Coastal Table Lamp

This is by far my absolute favourite Stiffel lamp. It is elegant and timeless, and is appropriate for use in our modern times.

The lamp features two arms, an oval shade and two clocks. The fact that there are two elegant clocks, featuring Roman numerals means that you can set two different timezones. This is very useful if you have friends and family who live in a different timezone, or if you are a frequent traveler.

I have one of these lamps in my office and it serves as both a source of light and a timepiece. It really is a very versatile and elegant piece of furniture to keep in your room. Personally, I set one clock to the local time, and another to the timezone my mother currently is in – she is a frequent traveler who spends most of her time in a different country. Having these two clocks side by side means that I never have to accidentally wake her in the middle of the night!

The lamp shade of this Stiffel lamp is oval, due to the rather elongated design of the lamp. The lamp itself is a shade over 20inches high and is best used with a 60 watt bulb.

This lamp is a bestseller among the Stiffel lamps. Of course, there are a number of other lamps out there, but I suppose there are a number of people these days who live internationally. Living in these modern times does not mean you have to sacrifice style for functionality! This Stiffel lamp just proves that.
